New Year Resolutions are usually made fully in the anticipation of breaking them. So when I start the year promising to take part in at least one exhibition every month this year, I don't expect to exceed that but that's just what I've done. January 2020 is off with a bang as I'm exhibiting in three different locations.
My first painting to hit the gallery wall is "Comfortable in their Skins". It's a 36" x 12" oil painting depicting 6 women of all ages, ethnicities and disabilities against a bold blue background. It is displayed in the Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee until January 29th in an exhibit called "Creating Connections" to promote inclusivity.

Next up is a fabulous exhibition being held at the Haskell Gallery at Jacksonville International Airport. It is curated by Jen Jones Murray and showcases 101 women artists from around the First Coast. An array of media and styles are shown salon style to international travelers and visitors in this impressive W.A.V.E. (Women Artists Visual Experiences). There will be a reception on Sunday, March 1st from 1.00pm - 3.30pm where you can meet some of the talented women artists so come along. You might even be inspired to bag yourself an original piece of artwork. Look out for my watercolor landscape depicting the signature Seventeenth hole at The Players Club in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Last up for January is The Art Center Co-operative (TAC) exhibition, "Libations". It opens on Thursday 23rd January inside Regency Square Mall. You can enjoy my "Nineteen" at that exhibition alongside an array of eye-catching 3d and 2d works. TAC is a great organization for local artists and the community, holding workshops and events regularly in an accessible space thanks to the time and talents donated by its dedicated members.

So I've started strong in 2020. I intend to keep the momentum going by entering the juried exhibition, Humanly Possible: Figures and Portraits, at St. Augustine Art Association in February. Maybe this is one year where my resolve will be steadfast. After all, a resolution to share color and form can only be fun to achieve.
